Increased Writing Scores

This graph shows the improvement in student writing scores from a classroom in California. This is data from the first and last of eight writing assessments that were evaluated with a consistent five-point scoring rubric with clearly defined expectations. Data-driven instruction, as taught in Performance Mastery, was used throughout the year to achieve these results.

Improved Science Performance

This data shows a California science class's improvement on end-of-unit science assessments. These assessments were evaluated using a consistent six-point rubric and show improvement in the students' knowledge application over time. These three samples, from the eight assessments given during the year, show how Performance Mastery allows teachers to use      end-of-unit summative assessments in a formative way. It evaluates student performance while providing teachers the data to adjust teaching and students the data to adjust their learning - so that everyone improves.
